August Month in Review
Hi friends,
Welcome to my monthly newsletter :) as the season changes, I’m launching a handful of new offerings, and figured it is about time to start a consistent newsletter.
Current musings:
Life has been interesting lately. I’ve been navigating deep wells of emotion—the deepest forms of love and devotion, and existential pain and soul-crushing heartbreak. And at the end of the day, I am still grateful to feel. Numbness is the uninitiated’s blindfold. And I will always choose to feel the lows to access the highs. This is the journey of being human.
I shared the following journal entry with a loved one navigating a hard time, it was written as much for them as it is for me, and apparently you.
I was given a good piece of advice the other night about what is meant for you, you can’t mess up. It will come back for you.
We will never be able to control the outcome—only influence it through dedication to the vision and action toward the goals.
Regardless of the outcome, this is your path. There will be twists and turns—accomplishments and disappointment. It is the journey of becoming. It’s a journey of proving to yourself that you can do hard things. You can face disappointment with grace—and see it as a redirection to something better and more aligned. You may not be able to see it while you are in it, but you will look back fondly on the journey that takes you where you are meant to go.
You’re not grasping at ropes tied to nothing, you’re weaving the tapestry of your life. And to be alive is to feel the full spectrum of experience—the joy, excitement, and love, the determination, drive, and action, the overwhelming and instability, the grief and sorrow, the numbness, discontent, and existentialism. All states of being are valid—as uncomfortable as some of them are. And wishing yourself out of a state that life is asking you to move and grow through is choosing pain and resistance. This is a lesson in surrender.
Even when you feel lost, there is a light guiding you. To be alive is to be of purpose. All you can do is show up as your best. Show up willing and open to the experience. This is surrendering to the unknown. This is a forging through the fire of the soul.
Month in review:
August saw more poetry. Actually, 2024 is a year of poetry for me, it seems. I love exploring new modalities of writing, and the simplicity and depth of poetry has been calling. I will always love long-form writing, but I easily slip into perfectionism, which delays the frequency of sharing. Poetry has evaded that trap thus far. I hope you’ve been enjoying the words of my heart.

A Thousand Paper Cuts Over Girlhood
I hosted my first embodiment and creative writing workshop, Emotional Alchemy & Self Expression. This was a well-loved workshop, and I will be hosting again come early October! Stay tuned for updates.
“Emotional Alchemy was so entirely fulfilling from beginning to end. Led by Madison’s intuitive, calming and wise presence, she provided a route into our deepest depths. Everything from Ecstatic Dancing and slow movements of all kinds, I got to really tap into my body and voice leading me deep into my heart. I was continuously inspired to find my innermost sacred thoughts and dreams. By the end I had been able to really put into writing what my soul led me to say. Her sound bath, was so touching and I felt connected with each beautiful heart in the room, and really felt reunited with my inner most knowing! I left there with such a beautiful connection to my own creativity and I’m so grateful to have had Madi’s loving guidance to return to my own creative spirit once again!! It’s beautiful to be led, seen and witnessed on all of Madison’s guided journeys! She is a such an inspiration always, in so many ways, love you!! Thank you thank you thank you🥰”

And, I started teaching a university-level yoga course at ASU! This teaching opportunity is truly a full circle moment and career milestone. It has already offered me so much growth as a teacher, and I’m only a few weeks in!
You can’t separate yoga from lineage, and I’m so grateful for all of my teachers who have prepared me to follow their footsteps in teaching the next generation.

One-on-One Yoga Teacher Mentorship
Lastly, I’m in the prelaunch phase of offering one-on-one yoga teacher mentorship. This is intended for new yoga teachers recently finished with YTT or about to finish, who don’t know what to do with their certification.
Taking this journey myself a few years ago, I went from teaching one class a week while working full time at a marketing/advertising agency to launching a retreat and women’s empowerment business, quitting my corporate job, teaching yoga at multiple studios and to private clients, becoming adjunct faculty, and facilitating community events, among a host of other offerings.
If I can do it, you can too!
This mentorship will include weekly check ins, accountability, goal setting, diving into limiting beliefs and overcoming obstacles, finding your voice and niche as a teacher, and personal access to pick my brain on how to create a sustainable life that you love!
If this sounds interesting, please reach out!
Thank you for reading and not only supporting my writing, but supporting my dreams. It means the world to me to have a community of friends who read my musings and engage in community activities.
With all the love,
Madison
